Scott MacDougall
Thirty-plus years selling real estate, and more than a thousand people helped buy or sell a home. Across 58 different Minnesota cities, starter homes to seven figures, on a flat $6,500 either way.
In Scott’s words
I’m one of those lucky people with a job I truly love. I wake up each morning excited about the day ahead, knowing that by the end of it I will have helped someone reach a major life goal.
Over the last thirty-plus years I have helped more than a thousand people buy or sell a home, and I have tried to do it in a way that is comfortable and informative rather than high-pressure. One hundred percent customer comfort and satisfaction is the goal, every time.
That means listening to what you actually want and need, combining it with decades of knowledge and experience, giving you current and accurate information, and working relentlessly on your behalf — with the kind of service you hope for and expect.
If you are looking to buy or sell and you want exceptional representation, give me a call or send me a note and we will talk through how to reach your goals.
I love my job. And I am good at my job.
What thirty years actually buys you
Thirty years is not a round number on a bio page. It means Scott was listing houses through the 2008 collapse, through the market where there was nothing on the shelf and buyers waived everything, and through every unremarkable year in between.
What you get from that is unglamorous: almost nothing in a transaction surprises him. He has seen the inspection come back ugly, the appraisal come in short, the buyer’s lender go quiet ten days out. He will tell you which market yours looks like rather than the one you were hoping for, and he will tell you early.
The record
These figures come from the 100 most recent sold listings on his own profile, which you can check yourself.
| Scott’s last 100 sales | |
|---|---|
| Sold above asking price | 61 |
| Sold at or above asking price | 77 |
| Minnesota cities listed in | 58 |
| Price range | $265,000 – $955,000 |
Four he beat the asking price on
| Property | List price | Sold for | Over asking |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4040 Dorchester DR, Woodbury | $798,000 | $899,000 | +12.7% |
| 10184 176th LN NW, Elk River | $424,000 | $500,000 | +17.9% |
| 9140 Hyland Creek RD, Bloomington | $550,000 | $620,000 | +12.7% |
| 16790 Festal AVE, Lakeville | $470,000 | $528,000 | +12.3% |
Worth saying plainly: over-asking outcomes are a function of the market as much as the agent, and the hot years flattered everyone. The number that is harder to fake is the spread — 58 cities and a $690,000 price range means he is not living off one subdivision he happens to know.
Not a niche, not a farm area
Some agents own four blocks and will not leave them. A thousand transactions do not happen inside one ZIP code. Scott’s sold listings run from Saint Paul and Minneapolis out through Edina, Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, North Oaks, Woodbury and Eagan, and then well past the metro — Elk River, Cambridge, Belle Plaine, Stanchfield, Scandia, Princeton Township, Linwood.
He works all of Minnesota, roughly two and a half hours out from the Saint Paul office in any direction, and the flat $6,500 does not change because your house is an hour further away.
What his clients say
Seven of these, unedited, from clients who named him. Every one is five stars.

The fee, briefly
A flat $6,500 to list, at any price, paid at closing and only if the home sells. Same full service a percentage brokerage gives you — representation, pricing analysis, professional photography, full MLS syndication, open houses, negotiation, management to closing. The reasoning behind it is on the about page; what it costs you line by line is on cost to sell.
Does Scott work with buyers too?
Yes. He represents buyers and sellers both, and a good number of his clients use him for both halves of the same move.
